Scheme for Stipends to Physically Handicapped Students

The Delhi Administration grants stipends to the Physically Handicapped Students under the Physically Handicapped Students Rule, 1976. Under the scheme monetary assistance is provided to the blind, deaf and the orthopaedically handicapped students who are studying in classes I to VIII in Govt. recognised school in Delhi.

The handicapped students who secure up to 55% marks and whose parents/guardians income does not exceed Rs.500/- per month are eligible to be under the scheme. The students securing more than 55% marks and whose guardians/parents income is below Rs.1000/- per month are also eligible for the assistance.

Scheme of Scholarship for the Disabled Persons

The scheme was started for the disabled persons viz. the blind, the deaf, the orthopaedically handicapped mentally retarded or leprosy cured students to provide them monetary assistance to secure such education, academic/technical or professional training which would enable them to earn the livelihood. The students of IXth standard onwards up to post graduate level are eligible for the scholarship. The disabled persons who are studying a full time course or correspondence course in an institution affiliated to a Board/University or working as trainee in a recognised institution are eligible. The income of their parents/guardians should be below Rs.2000/- per month.
